Take your resilience to the next level with this Resilience in Action Training!

Increasing your resilience is like practicing a muscle. Reading books or listening to a podcast simply won’t get you there. You need to feel the stress in order to overcome it. That’s why we have developed this unique combination of increasing your resilience while learning the basics of paragliding.
We will teach you ways to deal with stress in a safe outdoors group setting. And then we will take it to a whole other level. You will learn to apply these techniques while your feet take off the ground.

  • Are you ready to leave your computer screen and discover the outdoors?
  • Do you agree that the best learning happens while doing it?

We combine the best of both worlds in this hands-on resilience training! While you will have plenty of time to learn the basics of paragliding, you will also stretch the limits of your comfort zone.

We will use the experience of your paragliding training to increase your awareness about:

  • How you handle stress and discomfort
  • How you can adapt to any given situation
  • How you can use your body and breath to decrease stress

This training combines learning an exciting new skill and immediately helps you become aware of how your thinking and stress reactions limit your potential.

When should you NOT participate?

  • When you are 100% stress proof
  • When you do not like learning
  • When you are an experienced paraglider
  • When you do not like the outdoors
  • When someone else forces you to join
  • When you do not want to share your personal thoughts/feelings in the group

We will use different approaches to maximize your learning

  • Basics of paragliding on a training slope by professional paragliding instructors. We adjust to your level of learning (tandem flight, solo flight)
  • Guided self-reflection under the supervision of a leadership coach
  • Experiencing and managing physical, emotional and mental stress in a safe learning environment
  • Group dynamics: what is the impact of your stress on the group? What is the impact of the group on your stress?
  • Embodiment: understanding and experiencing the fight/flight/freeze action in your body. Gaining insights on how you can use your body to increase your resilience. Applying breath techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

Throughout the training we will gain insights into different themes, such as:

Resilience

  • How do you deal with change?
  • How do you deal with uncertainty?
  • How do you deal with failure?
  • How do you respond to stress?

Agility

  • How do you react to your context in an agile, yet authentic way?
  • How do you strike the right balance between wanting to control the situation and going with the flow?

Learning process

  • What is “a learning process”?
  • How does it work for you personally? Do you have a growth mindset or fixed mindset?
  • Where do you get stuck in your own learning process?
  • How can you allow yourself to learn and fail?

Learning how to fly

  • An initiation in paragliding, learning the basic ground handling techniques
  • A training tandem-flight with a professional pilot
  • A guided solo flight (for those who are ready and interested)

Depending on the meteorological conditions:

  • Wake-up, breakfast, prepare a packed lunch.
  • Depart for the morning activity at 7h30.
  • Morning activity, either tandem flight, training slope practice or a solo guided flight.
  • Lunch and a debriefing of the morning session.
  • Training / Coaching session on resilience / agility / learning.
  • Afternoon activity, either tandem flight, training slope practice or a solo guided flight.
